You can mount it read only by mount -o remount,ro /dev/sda1. I have another drive (/dev/sdb) having much more free space. I want to shrink space from (/dev/sdb) and extend to (/dev/sda1) partition which is my primary partition and have all linux boot, kernel etc files. What would be best risk free way to do this without losing my data on primary drive(/dev/sda1) ?? fdisk or 'dd' command or 'mount and umount' ? Pins 20 and 21 are the default I2C pins.

The term sd stands for SCSI disk, that is to say, it means Small Computer System Interface disk. So, sda means the first SCSI hard disk. Likewise,/hda, the individual partition in the disk takes names as sda1, sda2, etc.. If you are install Grub – you will might be given the choice of: /dev/sda /dev/sda1 The answer is to install it on /dev/sda.

I changed the size of the virtual hard disk from 10gig to 100gig so I'm looking to expand the partition /dev/sda1 using the /dev/sda3 I tried to run a resize2fs /dev/sda1 but the result was resize2fs 1.42.13 (17-May-2015) The filesystem is already 11718400 (4k) blocks long. Pins 20 and 21 are the default I2C pins. A lot of libraries assume you use these, and would require some extra work to get working with SDA1/SCL1. They also have their pullup resistors already present on the board of the Due (see schematic). So just use pins 20 and 21, unless you have a good reason to use the other.

20 (sda), 21 (scl), sda1, scl1 As of Arduino 1.0, the library inherits from the Stream functions, making it consistent with other read/write libraries. This video shows how the error was caused/fixed by reviewing the If the sda drive has 3 partitions on it, these will be named sda1, sda2, and sda3.

Flat 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response makes the SDA1 the perfect choice for critical listening in studio environments. Balanced inputs and versatile multi-way binding post outputs ensure quick connectivity to any source and speaker combinations, including 70v … SDA 1's encompass quite a few DIFFERENT speakers. pictures would help.

Look for entries like sda, sda1, sdb. Under the Linux-2.6 series of kernels this problem may be very neatly resolved . In the descriptions further on, it will be assumed that only one memory stick is present, and therefore mapped to /dev/sda. In most distributions these points exist in abundance.

/dev/sda1 - 'virtual' device, like a partition. One interesting difference is that if a device has partitions (has MBR data or sth alike) you can't read MBR data from any of the virtual devices, as MBR data resides outside of any partitions on a device. MBR resides in the first sector of the device (CHS: 0 0 1).

What type of partition does the USB have?
